Ex-Megadeth guitarist Marty Friedman halfway through new solo album
Former Megadeth guitarist Marty Friedman has issued the following update:"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! to everyone who made 2007 such a special year for me. It was without a doubt one of the most exciting years of my career, if not the most adventurous.
"Aside from my other Tv and print media duties, I celebrated a year with the show 'Rock Fujiyama', I managed to produce and play three albums, several single cuts, write my first top 20 single, do my first solo live DVD, as well as do my first solo trek through Europe. I was fortunate enough to meet so many of my fans and friends at promo events during the year and also of course at Masa Ito`s annual bash that I`m always honoured to do. Aside from that I was given my first shot at acting in a motion picture and it was a total blast!
"On a more personal note, I was asked to judge next year's annual state-wide University Japanese Speech Competition of Arizona, the same competition that I entered as a contestant just six years ago. Hard work really does pay off.
"But the Main thing is that I am currently putting together my new solo album, and I can tell you that I am halfway through it now and I am absolutely thrilled with it so far. There are many huge and cool surprises?
"I appreciate all of your support more than you will ever know. An amazing 2008 to all of you, I hope 2008 will be everything you want it to be!"
